PPEH was established in 2014 with many contributions of volunteer time, labor, and service. This collaborative, generous, and generative ethic remains at our core.
Now, with support from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, PPEH is growing our leadership team. Founding Director Bethany Wiggin is the Program's Faculty Director. PPEH also has a Topic Director to co-design and curate the annual theme. In 2017-18, Professor Etienne Benson helps steer our conversations asking : "How Did We Get Here?" We are also delighted to announce that Dr. Paul Farber is our brand new Managing Director--and will be a crucial member of our leadership team.

New Managing Director
Dr. Paul Farber comes to PPEH from Haverford College and Mural Arts Philadelphia. He is also the Artistic Director of the innovative public art and research project, Monument Lab. His commitment to developing arts-driven public conversations about history, memory, and our collective future make him an ideal collaborator on PPEH's various projects on environmental pasts, presents, and futures. This is also a homecoming for Paul, who did his undergraduate work at Penn in Urban Studies. Welcome, Paul, to the PPEH core team!
