October 15, 2019

Assistant Professor Kristina Lyons's collaborative project in Colombia "Rivers and Reconciliation: Community Recovery of the Mandur River Watershed" was just recently awarded a grant by the Ministry of Culture in Colombia to develop citizen radio programming. The grant is for the community radio station, Amazonia Estéreo 107.3 in Puerto Guzmán, Putumayo and "Ríos and Reconciliation" to train community reporters and to develop 17 radio programs with the rural communities of the watershed, including radiocomics and radionovelas to contribute to the restoration of the Mandur. "Rivers and Reconciliation" was one of four projects selected in the country to receive this award. Congratulations, Kristina and Fundación ItarKa!
