A Green Building that Sells Buildings

Automated blinds play a major role in the building's energy savings.

GSW, one of Berlin's largest real estate groups, calls home an energy-efficient building that relies on rather unique methods to maintain its status. Namely the building utilizes a "double-skin" thermal flue and cross ventilation systems to reduce energy over 30% from a normal building style. Beautiful and colorful blinds move automatically to make for efficient shading and light throughout the building. The building also hosts Checkpoint Energy, a place where anyone can go for advice on fostering energy savings. As the "world's first thermally-flued tall building" (see previous source), this real estate group has certainly sold me on their building.
