PPEHLab at WetLand Open House - Seed Bombs / Plant Clinic + Underwater Ears

  • Walnut Street Dock Philadelphia, PA (map)

Come play with us again! PPEHLab at WetLand rings in the season with seed bombs, a plant clinic and the sounds of the Schuylkill. On Sunday, from 11 to 6, WetLand is moored on the Schuylkill River at the Department of Parks and Recreation dock in center city Philadelphia. Tucked under the Walnut Street bridge, the dock is accessible from the Schuylkill River trail. Our seed-bomb-making station is curated by landscape designer Kate Farquhar with instructional video animation by local artist Jacob Rivkin. At the plant clinic, local horticulturists Kylin Metler and Robin Rick will take on plant ID and diagnosis - you bring the mystery plant material or houseplants for specialized TLC . Trans-disciplinary artist and landscape architect, Danielle Toronyi will channel live-action sounds from underwater while we talk and work together, as part of her sound collective Peak Discharge. Stop by and visit with us, learn about the Franklin Institute's NSF-sponsored CUSP initiative, write your "Philly Climate Story" with help from artist Joey Hartmann-Dow, and talk with PPEH about WetLand while we're in our pilot phase. #welcomeaboard #WetLand
