Teach-in

Humanizing Data: Climate and Environmental Research and Environmental Justice

12-1:30 pm, Class of '55 Seminar Room, 2nd Floor, Van Pelt Library

“Humanizing Data: Climate and Environmental Research and Environmental Justice” will discuss the ways that we can bridge knowledge production and social and environmental justice initiatives together in the anthropocene. The discussion will be the first of a series of teach-ins on a variety of social, cultural, and political issues that will take place throughout Spring 2017. #DataRescuePhilly hosts this public teach-in to consider the following:

  • The politics and priorities of climate and environmental data collection
  • Which human communities are most impacted by climate and environmental issues
  • The ways in which various communities use this information

Panelists will include Etienne Benson (Penn), Britt Dahlberg (Chemical Heritage Foundation), Peter DeCarlo (Drexel), and Kim Thomas (Penn).
